Albendazole 100 mg.
Description
Albendazole is a broad spectrum dewormer which belongs to the group of Benzimidazole-derivatives. It is active against gastro-intestinal roundworms, lungworms and tapeworms in cattle, sheep and goats. Worminex 10% liquid is also active against eggs of roundworms and liver flukes (not against immature liver flukes).
Indications
Prophylactics and treatment of worminfections in cattle, calves, sheep and goats like:
Gastro-intestinal worms : Bunostomum, Cooperia, Chabertia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia, Strongyloides and Trichostrongylus spp.
Liver-fluke : Adult Fasciola hepatica.
Lung worms : Dictyocaulus viviparus and D. filaria.
Tapeworms : Monieza spp.
Contra-indications
Administration in the first 45 days of gestation.
Side-effects
Hypersensitivity reactions.
Dosage and administration
For oral administration.
Goats and sheep : 1 ml. per 20 kg. bodyweight.
For liver-fluke : 1 ml. per 10 kg. bodyweight.
Calves and cattle : 1 ml. per 12 kg. bodyweight.
For liver-fluke : 1 ml. per 10 kg. bodyweight.
Medicated water should be used within 24 hours.
Withdrawal period
Meat : 12 days
Milk : 4 days
Storage
Store in a dry, dark place between 2°C and 25°C.
